Wakeboarder Thoughts is an ongoing "journal" by Wakeboarder.com Editors.
Check back often for new thoughts on wakeboarding, wakeskating, this web site, and other random stuff.
Metronome
I recently got Metronome from Cadmium Productions. It's definitely a cool DVD. It's got lots of fresh footage, a good soundtrack, and some great wakeboarding and wakeskating. It starts off with a section from Keith Lyman, who's quickly becoming one of the most respected riders on the water with his huge pop and unique style.
Definitely check Metronome out if you're looking for a cool video, we'll have a full review soon.

Bummer
I just heard that Shaun Murray was in town during the week on his Backyard Tour but it wasn't an official stop on the tour. Apparently he ripped it up on my local lake, but I was unaware and probably at home mowing the lawn with the YARD MAN.
Sure, going and riding with Shaun would have been fun, but would it be as fun as using the YARD MAN. I think I may have to take a picture of it to share the love. If you're lucky....
They're getting a bit crazier with their graphics and colors, and there are various improvements to each boat. We also like that they added video clips of the boats in action. We could go on, but we'll let you check it out for yourself.

Fall of the day...
The fall of the day comes from this video on Wakepics.com:
YARD MAN
I moved into my house a few years ago, but haven't had much time for yard work due to various reasons. First, the yard is fairly maintenance free. Second, yard work has never been my favorite thing, I'd rather be wakeboarding when the weather is nice. And third, I'm just pretty busy with the baby daughter, work, working on this site, and other stuff.
But this year I made a big leap by adding some grass to the front yard. Planting and adding the grass was successful, as it's a fairly small patch of grass. So after basking in that success, I was faced with the daunting task of getting a lawn mower.
I know, getting a lawn mower doesn't sound too daunting, but these kind of things can be difficult. The patch of grass is small enough that a cheap manual push mower would work instead of getting a gas or electric mower which would obviously be more expensive. I don't really like spending money to start with, so spending money on something used to cut grass really doesn't excite me.
At first I put off the decision by borrowing my neighbor's gas mower. While I enjoyed the power, I still figured a manual mower would do, and I didn't want to borrow their law mower every week.
I checked out some local stores and was appalled by the idea of paying $100 or more for a manual lawn mower. That just seems crazy. So naturally, garage sales and general searching had to commence. The problem is I never can find time to search or go to garage sales. Luckily, I stopped by a local thrift store and found an old manual push mower for $10. Now we're talking!
After agreeing to the $10 price, the kid helping me then knocked the price down to $5.99 for no apparent reason. I was cool with that, and then when we went inside he told the person at the register I'd be paying $5 even for it. Obviously the kid was an amazing negotiator. I wonder what would have happened had I actually try to argue about the price.
Anyway, I'm sure you're dying to know what brand of lawn mower it is, and I'll end your suspense by letting you know it's the "SILENT YARD MAN". So, I'm officially giving myself the nickname "SILENT YARD MAN" in all my future yard projects.
I know, you're wondering how I could write this much about finding a lawn mower, but for some reason the story seemed interesting to me, and now I realize it's just stupid. Well, tough, you're read this far anyway. YARD MAN!
