ITunes
I've been been using the web and internet since about 1994 and have always loved the new applictations and ways it can change the way we live and do things.
One recent transformation I've made is pretty much switching to entirely digital music, and never really using or buying CDs in the traditional format.
ITunes not only plays my own library of music files on my computer, but it also has a pretty comprehensive list of streaming radio stations built right into it, and then has direct access to the ITunes store, which is what makes it different from previous music applications I've used.
Having access to the store means I can preview tracks from tons of artists for free in an easy way, and buy songs I like for $0.99. If you're used to downloading files for free you might not like that, but unlike free downloading, this is legal. The quality of the songs are also perfect, the downloads are fast, and you know you're not dealing with fakes, bad quality, and viruses.
ITunes is another one of those mini-revolutions that I love about the web/internet.
As you might expect, it's a very artistic and cool site. Nice work from Mr. Letchworth.
Also, for those of you in the orlando area, Cassette will be hosting their first gallery opening with a slew of different artists. It will definitely be well worth checking out. The show is entitled ANALEMMA and will be held in the attic of their office. The gallery opening reception will be Friday, November 14th. Come on down if you can make it,you won't be disappointed
Long Time, No Update
Phew, it's been a while since I've wrote anything here. Things have just been wild around the homefront and at work. Not to mention the terrible depression I've been in due to the three-game losing streak of the Oregon football team. Hopefully that will be rectified this weekend against Stanford.
Anyway, we added some forum enhancements like post ratings and some new profile fields. There's been a bit of controversy about the post rating system, but it hasn't seemed to have a ton of impact either positively or negatively. We'll see how it goes.
As for the rest of the site, we've got some video reviews coming up, as well as an interesting interview with the head of engineering at Skier's Choice about the possibilities of more fuel-efficient or alternative power boat engines. It should be interesting...

Blowout!
Not that any of you care about football, but my Ducks got thrashed by Washington State after being on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. What a bummer.
Anyway, I've got some site upgrades in the forums and Media Center scheduled to happen soon. I'm still fixing a few things from the server move and working on a totally unrelated web site. One of the things I'm still trying to fix is our list software that runs the Wakelist, Article Alert, and Newsletter. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon, but it's currently stumping us.
