It's a Girl!
I just found out today that the baby my wife and I have on the way is a girl! Since we already have one daughter, I'm going to be in a household of three other women. It should be fun, but I'm in for it!

4,000 users!
Our ever so popular Wakeboarder.com Forums just hit the 4000 registered users point. We launched the new forum system in March, and hit 4,000 pretty darn quick. Going from 3,000 to 4,000 users happened extremely fast this summer. The sport is still growing, and people are finding Wakeboarder.com and loving it.

Thanks to all 4,000 of you who participate in the forums! I'm sure it won't be too long until we hit 10,000!

Grubb in Jeans
I was up late working on this site last night, and I had the TV on. I look over at it during a commercial and see Grubb wakeskating in jeans for a commercial. While it was pretty funny to see him wakeskating in jeans in a "commercial" look, he did some nice tricks and it will probably allow lots of people to see wakeskating who haven't seen it before.

It was a big step for wakeskating, since normally larger companies still tend to pick wakeboarding for these typs of mass-audience commercials. Perhaps people are starting to realize that wakeskating may have more appeal to the millions of skateboarders out there? Hmmm...

Oops
I just noticed last night that I didn't have an opinion poll question or Daily Wake Tip for yesterday. Sorry about that.

I usually write these ahead of time about two weeks in advance, and sometimes I forget when the deadline is up. Let me also tell you, it's HARD to come up with questions every day. Especially when we've been doing the opinion poll for four years!

How about Parks?
As you may have read here on the site, Parks Bonifay has won his fourth Pro Tour overall championship. That's pretty impressive, and the only rider who has won more is Darin Shapiro who has won six titles.

Shapiro is often considered the best competition wakeboarder ever, but is it possible that Parks will soon take over that title? Shapiro still has more overall tour titles, and may not be done as he's still riding strong, but Parks is definitely younger so he has time to catch Darin in overall titles.

Both riders have won big events outside of the Pro Tour, but I don't have total numbers on hand on who's won more and which ones. Regardless, they have different personalities, as it seems like Darin has more of a competitive drive than Parks. Yet, although Parks is a joking/crazy kind of guy, he obviously does take the tour seriously to win it four times.

So what's your opinion? Is Darin still the best competitive rider ever? Will he remain that? Or will Parks surpass him?
