Good News
The latest about Liquid Force and O'brien on the rumor mill is that O'brien has recently been purchased, and Liquid Force has gotten some funding to continue operations and making boards until a new owner takes over. Interesting stuff, we'll try to find out more.
Yikes!
Hmm, whether you like Abercrombie and Fitch or not, this shirt should probably scare you.

Correct Craft Patent
We just put an article on the front page about Correct Craft's tower patent being upheld in court. A good victory to Correct Craft, and although I'm not legal expert, I believe this means pretty much anyone who manufactures a tower and plans on selling it has to buy a license from Correct Craft. I have no idea what this license costs, but I'm sure it's good for Correct Craft's business.
So, obviously the Patent office feels that Correct Craft has a legitimate patent, and by all accounts Correct Craft did invent the "tower" for wakeboarding purposes. My question is though, if a tower is patented, why isn't an extended pylon? Fat sack? The Patent office must have a difficult job, deciding what does and doesn't qualify for patents. Regardless, I think it's good that the company or people that invent something can't just have it ripped off by everyone without receiving financial gain. However, I also don't think it's good for a struggling industry to go to court often to deal with these kinds of issues. Hopefully court cases between wakeboarding companies are few and far between.

Kovak Instructional Book
Jeremy Kovak has been out of the public eye for a while, but he's been working on a new wakeboarding instructional book. The book is now finished and we'll have more information about it soon. It has over 100 tricks in it, and features top pros with photography by Jeff Heer. It's in a laminated waterproof format that makes it great for taking it along in the boat. Should be interesting....
