  • Manufacturer's Description:
A new design that offers the strongest grip when initiating a turn with a solid overall edge hold. This new faster rocker line has the explosiveness you could only get from this trademark bend. An increased sidecut and Flow-Thru rail makes this board less work to session the wake. 3-Stage rocker boards are now even easier to be ridden finless. Byerly's new ride has a contoured deck offering greater heel and toe response by having the bindings lowered into the board.

    Byerly Features:
3-Stage Rocker - a new, faster bucking pop for an explosive wake to wake style.
Flow Thru Technology - water flowing over the tail for quicker initiated turns.
Deepest Two-Tier Rail - adds to the aggressive rail ride style.
Deeper Center Beam - super smooth landings even with a 3-stage kick.
Two .8" P-Wing Machined Aluminum Fins - designed for a quicker overall release and a moderate feel on the water.
Four 1.0" Deep Molded-In Fins - Hyperlite's thinnest and deepest molded-in fins for a knees bent style of riding that relies more on the outer fin.
Vented Channels - less friction on the water when on rail for a faster feel.
    Deck - a new rail-to-rail response.
Butch Innovation - Scott Bouchard and Byerly continue to push the limits of wakeboards.

    Pros: Great pop, looks cool
Cons: very slow, sits to low in the water, transitions very slowly

I am not a fantastic rider, but I figured I would give this board a try. I really did not like it at all. It made my time behind the boat miserable. I road it a few days thinking I just needed to get used it, but that was not the case. Others road it and made me feel better agreeing with me, it is the board, not just me.

The board does have great pop once it finally makes it to the wake. I rode it both finned and finless, and neither was great. With the fin the board is just not great.

    Just my opinion.

Pros: edge hold, pop, speed, overall feel
    Cons: nothing really

have ridden every Byerly shape since he signed with Hyperlite, and I finally got the chance to ride the new design. I rode it finless, with the widest stance, for all references. It rode-shock of all shocks-like a Byerly, only better than the 02-03 shape, in my opinion. The pop is there, as always, with a nice landing, possibly softer than last year. The edge hold is as solid as ever, even without fins, but not too tight. The speed into the wake is, as usual, progressively fast, maybe faster than last year. Overall, I liked the board, and would say that the cutouts provide a good addition to the Byerly design, helping the board hold an edge better without a center fin, and yet not be too tight on the water. I would compare it to the old Byerly finless design from 00-01, only better edge hold into the wake and softer landings. Anyways, those are my thoughts. This is definately a solid design, not a gimmick or mistake. If you like the previous Byerly designs, you should like this one.

Pros: Excellent Edge Hold, Agressive, Very Fast
Cons: Wants to always be on edge, can make landings difficult

Yes, it's been done before, but I figured one more opinion can't hurt.

I picked up the Byerly last Monday after demoing it the week before. On first impression the board was great, really locked on edge, very stable, landings were good and the board seems to have tons of pop. I sold my 2003 LF Team 139 for it and havn't looked back yet.

The Byerly is a very fast board when compared to the Team, which I really like. I ride at around 24-25mph on a 75' Line. Usually behind a Malibu LSV or Tige 21v Rider's Edition. Even without the ballast tanks filled the board really throws you, I've been consistantly getting much more air that I had been with the Team.

The cut-aways out of the board really seem to make the difference in the way it rides. This board is definitely not for beginners and I would only reccomend it to those who ride very agressively and charge the wake all the time. My friend who's a little more laid back in his riding than I, found himself in trouble a few times coming down from an air and having hte board lock right up into an edge which sent him flying.

The jump from a 139 to a 137 is completely unnoticable. The first ride I had with it, the board seemed to be a little easier to break away from the water, meaning its easy to slide out if you're not used to it/prepared for it.

Overall I give the Byerly a 4.7/5 Wakeboards whereas I rated the Team at a 4/5. The Byerly seems to keep up with my riding moreso than the Team did, at times with the LF I found myself cutting too fast and slacking the line, havn't had that yet with the Byerly.
