liked the Byerly’s from the start. The mesh side panels provide good breathing and draining while enabling them to dry a lot faster than a normal shoe. They also added some rubber lines on the mesh to protect the mesh from ripping when doing wake to wake tricks as well as sliders and kicker. There is a rubber heel and wrap around toe piece for ollie protection that is very functional. One feature that I particularly liked a lot is the laces. I know, laces, how cool can that bee? Well, they covered the tips in metal. Anyone that skateboards or wakeskates know that laces get torn up at the ends from all kinds of abuse. Being in the water a lot of time can make them totally unusable. Cool feature Reef.
Function:
Very functional shoe! This has to be one of my best purchases in a while. The shoes dry out very fast as expected. The ollie protection works very well as do the rubber lines on the mesh. The shoes don’t weigh much at all and they never seem to pick up a lot of water. They are always very light on the feet; it’s actually a noticeable difference after a day of skating. When getting out of the water, water comes flowing out of them as if they had drain holes. I’ve wore them out a few times and to work once or twice. They are very comfortable and let my feet breathe a lot. The normal excessive sweating from wearing shoes without socks in the Texas is not there.
Conclusion:
The Byerly’s are an excellent purchase for the avid wakeskater. They are very comfortable on and off the water. The mesh dries relatively fast and they don’t soak up tons of water, that’s everything needed in a wakeskate shoe. After I kill this pair I’m going to get another pair. I think the money was well spent and they have met up to my expectations.

Definitly my favourite wakeboard shoe on the market. I love the looks, and the functionality. These shoes are very lightweight, very durable and quite comfortable as well. The drainage from the shoe works really well, and Ive yet to have any problems. Definitly another quality product from Reef.
