Pros: Outstanding instructional guide that can be taken with you in the boat.
Cons: The price is not cheap, but it's worth it.

One of the largest problems for wakeboarders is getting instructional help to become a better rider. Good instructors are hard to find, and usually far away or expensive. So where is a rider going to get instruction when they go out riding at their local spot? WakePhysics from former world wakeboarding champion Jeremy Kovak is the answer.

CONCEPT
It's difficult to find good instruction, especially when you're out on the water away from videos, web sites, and magazines. WakePhysics was created to end that difficulty by being an easy-to-read book that's small, waterproof, and has helpful trick instructions with pictures. When you're working on that first invert and don't know what you're doing wrong, why not consult your copy of WakePhysics so you can visualize the trick better?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jeremy Kovak is one of the pioneers of professional wakeboarding, one of the first Canadian pros, and he was one of the most successful competitive wakeboarders ever winning multiple tour stops and other big wakeboarding competitions such as the 1997 X-Games. Kovak was known for his perfect technique on the water, and it's this knowledge of the physics in wakeboarding that helped him author this book.

BOOK SPECIFICATIONS
WakePhysics is an 8" by 5" 100 page book that fits into the glove compartment of your boat. It is water-resistant, it floats, and it is made of a very durable synthetic material.

FEATURED RIDERS

- Jeremy Kovak
- Parks Bonifay
- Erik Ruck
- Danny Harf
- Chad Sharpe
- Dallas Friday
- Derek Dyer
- Corey Miner

BOOK FORMAT AND CONTENTS
WakePhysics is broken down into different chapters that cover a different aspect of wakeboarding. The chapters with are:
- Beginner
- Grabs and Added Style
- Rolls and Flips
- Spins
- Raleys
- Mobes

Each chapter features a glossary of terms associated with that chapter, along with some general tips for that type of tricks. An example would be the grab diagram for the Grabs chapter.

Each trick features a panoramic blended photo sequence so it's easy to see the full trick, along with step by step instructions on how to perform the trick. See the bottom of this review for a sample page.

There are over 100 tricks in WakePhysics, plenty for the beginner all the way to the advanced wakeboarder to learn.

BOTTOM LINE
WakePhysics is the most in-depth instructional resource to date all in one compact place. It's price of $39.95 is well worth it for the help it should give any level of rider to learn some new tricks while out on the water. The panoramic pictures alone are great to flip through with 100 pages of tricks to view by some of the sport's best riders. Combine that with Kovak's expert advice on performing the tricks, and you have a winning combination that any wake physicist will love.

Pros: Lots of pictures and sequence shots
Cons:

This is a very useful tool to learn new tricks, and the sequence shots help you visualize what the trick looks like and how its performed. If you are an instructor or just beginning to wakeboard, there is benefit in this book for everyone.

Pros: Great illustrations, simple and direct explanations
Cons: CANT FIND A NEW COPY ANYWHERE!!!!

I would recommend it. But then again, that would require me being able to buy one for myself first. the loan copy I have has been and remains a great read... But avoiding the calls from my friend to try to get the book back is getting to be a pain.
