Product Description D2 Wakeboard Bindings:
Slingshot wakeboard bindigs are designed and developed to put the rider in the most naturally athletic stance and to take wakeboarding to another level. Like every sport this starting place puts your weight on the balls of your feet. From that point you initiate heel pressure or toe pressure. As simple and as natural as it sounds wakeboarding has drifted away from this concept. The reason for the divergence is the heel hold, the use of compromising materials and inferior design. The reality is nothing's going to work if your heel isn't locked down. Binding developers of the past thought they had solved this problem and the problem of squirting out of the toes by building toe ramps. This in effect lowered your heel below the ball of your foot resulting in the most non athletic and unnatural position imaginable. Don't take our word for it; try surfing, skating or snowboarding in this position. It's very difficult, uncomfortable and unnatural.
Slingshot shares the same functional holy grail of heel hold but the key is to put the rider into the most athletic and aggressive riding position. The ultimate solution was the closed toe boot.
We are proud to introduce the D2 stiff men's wakeboard binding. The D2 is our stiff wakeboard boot that offers an integrated boot and 4-hole binding system. New for 08 the D2 also comes with a Transition Plate to allow the rider to use the D2 boot with older style boards with 8" 2-hole configurations.
If a stiff feeling boot isn't your style try the softer Slingshot PB Floyd wake boot. The PB Floyd shares the same benefits of heel hold, overall comfort and natural rider positioning as the D2 but in softer package for more of a skate-like quality.
Features:
4-Hole binding plate
Transition plate
Integrated boot and 4-hole binding system: low profile binding is integrated into the sole of the boot providing an adjustable attachment to the board that eliminates heel and toe lift. Power is transferred from the rider directly to the board
Fully supported, and fully adjustable ergonomic fit: unmatched comfort, more water time
Removable and heat formable ULTRALON EVA INTUITION™ liner: custom fit the liner to your foot
All new construction and materials: smaller, lighter and tighter fitting boot
Contoured PORON foot bed: provides heel wrapping support and comfort for big landings
Flow Release Water Ports: These reduce the overall weight and provide an easy way for the water to escape
Tool-less on-the-fly rotation and stance adjustment: change your duck angle in no time, eight different angles on both feet allow the rider to custom select their stance
Light Weight EVA Sole: reduces vibration and provides a shock absorption in the heel for stomping big jumps. Since it has no rubber it is the lightest sole on the market. Its low profile skate design puts you lower to the board than any other boot available
Power Plugs: Faster turns and no delay for aggressive riders
D2 Zonal Speed Lacing: upper and lower lacing built into one lace system. The lower foot can be cinched up tight and the upper left loose for the riders who like good heel hold but a softer flexing upper. Or the lower can be set loose with the upper tight to provide heel hold and performance with no pressure over your toes
D2 lace locks: locking hooks lock the lacing system tight so it won't loosen during riding and helps you set the tightness just right
Quick Step Instep Harness with Cinch Cross: internal harness slips over the liner to add support and tighten the liner around your foot for maximum performance
Slingshot Legendary Construction: bomber quality
