Manufacturer's Description:
In the last three years Scott Bouchard and I have designed eight different shapes with Hyperlite. The designs we've come up with have helped create the idea for the Premier series and the Parks series, plus boards from some of the other guys. We know what works, and we're always trying to come up with the freshest ideas.
I didn't want to change my shape for this year because my line of boards does everything I was looking for. My board gets so much traction from the deep molded-in outer fins, cupped rails, and the two-tier rail. A Byerly board has a lot of grip, but it still releases quickly off the wake because the center fin is only 1.2" deep. My pro model still has the "Byerly pop", explosive, abrupt, whatever you want to call it - it suits my style. It also lands a lot softer with the center beam in the middle.
-- Scott Byerly
Byerly Features:
2.8" 3-Stage Rocker - a bucking pop off the wake for an explosive wake to wake style.
Two Tier Rail - the board doesn't sit quite as deep on the water as a step down rail but has just as much edge hold.
Deep Center Beam - super smooth landings even with a 3-stage kick.
Two 1.2" P-Wing Machined Aluminum Fins - designed for a quick release and a moderate feel.
Four 1.0" Deep Molded-In Fins - Hyperlite's thinnest and deepest molded-in fins for a knees bent style of riding that relies more on the outer fin.
Deep Cupped Rails - a more responsive grip into a rail-ride turn.
Vented Channels - less friction on the water when on rail for a faster feel.
Jib Base - a stronger material with a more controlled feel for riders looking to get their jib on.
Butch Innovation - Scott Bouchard and Byerly continue to push the limits of progressive wakeboard shapes.

Awesome pop!-Top of the class in wakeboards! Cool Graphics!
|
Cons:
|
Stock center fin is a little small for hard cuts!
|
|
This board launches effortlessly and lands very smooth in the flats. I love the styling and molded fins. If you cut very hard, you may have to add a larger fin than the stock size(?)

Pop, Molded fins, Jib Base

Cons:

Pop, Stock Fins

Great board, excellent, but kind of uncontrollable pop. With the stock fins on, it tracks like no other, locked in like a , umm, wakeboard which is very locked in. Without the center fin the board feels brilliant, feels light (for its size) neither fast nor too slow (personally), fairly loose and nice and floaty. It is important to edge properly, i had to go back and learn how to edge correctly (i thought i had it down!) and could slip out if one was not edging really well, but once mastered it pops excellent.
A floaty board which sits high in/on the water, requires proper edging technique, pops really well and feels nice and light.

Great pop, can be rode with or without fins

Cons:

Not a beginner board

I love the Byerly. It's perfect for my riding style. I like to ride it without fins, and edge slowly with a solid edge. When done correctly, this board pops very nicely and lands softly. It really has the best pop of any board I have ever ridden, and I've ridden A LOT of boards.
