Ok Folks..here we go...This is the first Official Announcement of Louisiana
Spring Fling 2000.
LSF, brought to you by Y2Kp Board Gear, is a "Boardstock Based Event" that is
held the last weekend of April in Monroe, Louisiana on the Ouachita River at
Moon Lake Marina. The event is designed to kick off the new wakeboarding
season and to meet new people to ride with throughout the year. Almost all
Wakeboarding Manufactures and Wakeboard Related Companies are represented
each year by sending parts of their staff and team riders, as well as free
product to give away.
In 1998, Louisiana Spring Fling attracted approximately 250 riders and gained
attention in Wakeboarding Magazine. The very next year in 1999, the
attendance more than doubled to close to 600, while Wakeboarding Magazine
covered the event with a two page spread, and WAKEtv devoted 45 minutes of
their hour long monthly video magazine! LSF '99 attracted Greg Nelson and
his Double Up Experience, Chase Heavner, Johnny King, David Issacson, Pat
McElhinney, Brett "Ike" Eisenhauer, most of the Krown guys, as well as
members of Hyperlite and Liquid Force.
LSF '00 promises more of the same that has been seen in the past two events,
except we are expecting close to 1000 participants. There will be a contest
of some sort (to be announced at a later date) with the pro riders that will
be in attendance again this year. There will be a demo day on Friday, and
the Pro Rider Contest will be Saturday Afternoon.
The Demo Day will be represented by Hyperlite, Liquid Force, and Obrien so
far. We will let you know as others join the list!
There will be organized RV parking now this year. The electricity is already
hooked up from I understand. You will need to call and reserve your RV spot
this year to insure you have a good place to park. There are also camp sites
available if you do not require electricity. However, Moon Lake Marina
(Joey) will take care of all of that. You must call him at the Marina to
reserve your spot. I will announce his phone number and when you can call in
a few weeks.
Next order of business is sponsorship and the T-Shrits. The LSF Shirt was a
huge hit last year, and promises to be even better this year. If you are
wanting your company logo on the T-shirt, please get in touch with me. Many
web sites have already expressed interest in the shirt, so don't let your
site be the only one not represented. Also, this year, LSF is not dedicated
to just one single shop. I would like to thank Scott and the Gang for
becoming a part of LSF. Thats right, Glass and Powder is now a sponsor of
LSF, along with Outfitters Ltd. of Monroe. If any of the other shops are
interested in getting in on this event, just let me know!
The last thing is the web site. Dro's Wake Design is doing our Web Site this
year. The site will be updated frequently with pictures, sponsors and their
links, and event info including the number for myself, Chris Patterson, and
Moon Lake Marina. Here is the
